Fechoría draws inspiration from magical realism and the paintings of Remedios Varo, merging the supernatural with the ordinary. The set design reflects this dreamlike atmosphere, where fashion becomes a visual experience that transports the viewer into a world filled with beauty, symbolism, and mystery.
I WAS BORN ON A FRIDAY
El Castillo del León stood like an architectural fever dream. A medieval fortress entwined with the spirit of a Mexican vecindad. That peculiar fusion of eras and styles was the perfect reflection of the editorial itself. Don Diego Gaona, a living legend in town, had not only built the enigmatic castle but had spent decades reading people’s destinies with the eerie accuracy of an oracle. “You can shoot here, but it has to be on a Friday,” he declared, pouring himself a glass of whiskey with the slow precision of someone attuned to the universe’s secret rhythm. “I was born on a Friday, and everything that comes into the world on this day is destined to be lucky in love.”
FINDING OUR PAINTER
I met Enrique Leyva in Puebla, back when his genius was still a
subtle secret , not yet claimed by the fashion world. For eight
years, I watched him weave Mexico’s essence into each face he
captured, his eye guided by an exquisite and rare sensibility.
His warmth, his pride—exactly what I had dreamed for our debut.
"I take on any project as long as it's inspiring," he once told
me. FECHORIA is modest compared to the giants he works with, but
inspiration knows no hierarchy. In this industry, talent and
taste always rise to the top—Enrique is living proof.
